Since last week google hosts the mailaccounts for my private domain!
It's a great feature: you can register up to 25 user for free, create mailinglists and customize the design of the google webinterface.

Picasa picture publishing with google

Amazing new feature in picasa: if you have a googlemail account you can ask for invitation for google picasa beta which allows you to publish your pictures in a webalbum provided by google with one click. Really simple, fast and comfortable. The only disadvantages are the limited webspace (250MB) and that picasa beta is only available for windows.

google calendar

Today google calendar (beta) went online. It requires a googlemail- account. Seems to be a real beta! Needed five logins to succed once. If you are in it looks quite fine. Testing in daily use will show how usefull and reliable this new feature is. Stay tuned...

MS Word like webbased application

This is really a step forward: ajaxwrite a webbased streamline editor.
Create and edit Word-documents in your browser without to install and buy MS Office.
You can import and export documents in all popular formats, including documents with graphics. The save function lets you save your work to a drive on your computer. Also, since you run ajaxWrite from your web browser, it is platform independent and can therefore be used with any operating system.

Google doesn't stop developing:

today I uploaded my first video on video.google.com and got stuck in watching the whole day what other moviemakers created...

All you need to take part is a google mail account.

google talk

Google gets more and more a all in one solution for my daily work.
Today I brought up google-talk on my linux box using Psi.
I also tested gaim but it is yet not working. For Psi is a nice howto available for configuration.

Firefox 1.5 extensions, integration of gmail, gspace

Finally updated my SuSE 9.3 Firefox to 1.5

Like this I was able to install a few very nice extensions:

• Screen Grab 0.7: takes screenshot of your actual browser window
• ShowIP 0.7.99.11: shows IP of the current page
• Gmail Space 0.2: uses your gmail account for file storage. Works fine!
• gTranslate 0.2.7: translate any word marked in your browser via google translate
• del.icio.us 1.0.2: plugin for your delicious bookmark account

A really nice start in the working year 2006!
I ask myself if I also should take part in this new game of linking "Blondinenwitze"? Why not!
